One WordPress installation connects to one MLS, and each website needs its own subscription. Six websites means six subscriptions and six installations, one MLS each.
This is not a setting you can raise. The plugin stores one MLS selection and one set of MLS credentials per site, so a second feed has nowhere to live even if the licensing allowed it.
Why one MLS per installation
The MLS choice and its credentials are stored once, at site level, on the MLS/RESO Api Options tab. Every import task on that site inherits them. Import tasks are how you split up what gets imported, and they all draw from the same connection.
That is why an agent who belongs to three MLSs needs three websites. Each one holds its own MLS, its own credentials and its own subscription, and each one needs its own approved RESO Web API access from that MLS.
Plan the split by MLS, not by brand. Two offices under one company name that share an MLS are one website with two import tasks. One office that pulls from two boards is two websites, whatever the branding says, and no amount of configuration merges them into a single search.
What a second site needs
- Its own MLSImport subscription, bought by the person who holds the MLS membership.
- Its own approved RESO Web API access from the MLS or the data platform serving it.
- A supported theme, or standalone mode, so the imported properties have somewhere to display.
- Hosting sized for the number of listings it will hold.
The MLS approval is the part with a lead time. The subscription and the plugin are ready in minutes, and the data access application is measured in days or weeks depending on the board.
How your account sees your sites
Once a day each installation reports a short heartbeat to your MLSImport account: the site address, the WordPress environment type, and counters for how many properties were imported, updated and deleted. That is how support can tell which website a subscription is running on without asking you.
It is also why a staging copy shows up as its own entry. A staging site is a separate installation reporting a separate address.
Tell us before you run a real import on a staging or development copy. The heartbeat reports the environment type, so a staging install is identifiable as one, and it is better to agree how your plan covers it in advance than to explain an unexpected second address afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
Can I import two MLSs into one website if the listings do not overlap?
No. The limit is the single stored connection, not the listings. Two feeds means two installations.
Can I use a WordPress multisite network instead of separate installs?
Each site in a network stores its own options, so each one holds its own MLS and needs its own subscription. It saves you hosting, not subscriptions.
My colleague has access to a second MLS. Can we share it?
Only if the MLS grants your website its own approved access. The data licence is between the member and the board, and it names what may display it.
Does a subdomain count as a separate site?
If it is a separate WordPress installation with its own MLS connection, yes. Ask us before you set one up if you are unsure how your case counts.
