The Property List, Property Slider and Map with Listings blocks have a Custom parameters setting. Use it to show only the listings whose MLS data matches a condition you choose. For example, to show only the listings in the Kahala Beach building:
BuildingName equals Kahala Beach
It works with any MLS field you import, including fields that have no filter of their own in the block settings, like BuildingName. It works the same in the WordPress block editor and in Elementor.
Before you start
- Standalone mode with stored listings. Custom parameters filter the listings saved on your site. They are not used in Live mode.
- The field must be imported. If BuildingName is not selected for import, it is not saved on your listings and a condition on it finds nothing. To check, open a listing in wp-admin and look for BuildingName among its imported fields.
- You need the field’s MLS name, here
BuildingName. Do not add themlsimport_prefix; the plugin adds it for you.
Add a condition in the block editor (Gutenberg)
- Edit the page and click the Property List, Property Slider or Map with Listings block.
- In the block settings on the right, open the Custom parameters panel.
- Click Add condition.
- Fill in the three boxes: Field
BuildingName, How Equals, ValueKahala Beach. - Update the page. The preview in the editor already shows only the Kahala Beach listings.
To delete a condition, click Remove under it.
Add a condition in Elementor
- Edit the page with Elementor and click the Property List, Property Slider or Map with Listings widget.
- On the Content tab, open the Custom parameters section.
- Click Add Item and fill in Field
BuildingName, How Equals, ValueKahala Beach. - Click Update.
To delete a condition, use the trash icon on its row.
The “How” choices
- Equals: the field holds exactly this value.
BuildingNameequalsKahala Beachshows only that building. - Not equals: everything except this value.
BuildingNamenot equalsKahala Beachshows every other listing, including listings that have no building name. - Contains: the value appears anywhere in the field.
BuildingNamecontainsKahalamatches “Kahala Beach”, “Kahala Towers” and any other building with Kahala in its name. - Greater than and Less than: for number fields only.
ListPricegreater than1000000shows listings priced above 1,000,000. They do not apply to a text field like BuildingName.
Using more than one condition
Add one row per condition. A listing must match every row to be shown. For example, listings in the Kahala Beach building priced above 1,000,000:
BuildingName equals Kahala Beach
ListPrice greater than 1000000
There is no “or” between rows. To show two buildings, use two blocks, or a Contains condition on a word both names share, like BuildingName contains Kahala.
Good to know
- The condition also applies when visitors use the filter bar or go to the next page of results, and to every pin the map loads as visitors move it.
- The other block settings (city, type, price, beds and so on) still apply. Custom parameters narrow the result further.
- Capital letters do not matter on a standard WordPress database:
Kahala Beachalso finds “KAHALA BEACH”. Spaces and punctuation do matter with Equals; use Contains if you are not sure of the exact building name. - The Map with Listings block shows only listings that have map coordinates. If none of the Kahala Beach listings has coordinates, the map is not shown.
Nothing shows up?
- Check the field name. It must be the MLS name with no spaces:
BuildingName, notBuilding Name. - Check that BuildingName is in your import. If you added it recently, listings get the value at their next update or after a new import.
- Try Contains with part of the name, like
Kahala, in case the MLS writes the building name differently. - Remove the other block filters for a moment, to see whether they are the ones hiding the listings.
Frequently asked questions
Which blocks support Custom parameters?
Property List, Property Slider and Map with Listings, both as WordPress blocks and as Elementor widgets.
How do I show only the listings in one building?
Add a condition with Field BuildingName, How Equals and Value set to the building name, for example Kahala Beach. Only listings whose BuildingName is Kahala Beach are shown.
Which MLS fields can I filter on?
Any field you import from your MLS, such as BuildingName. A field that is not part of your import is not saved on your listings, so a condition on it finds nothing.
Can I combine several conditions?
Yes. Add one row per condition, for example BuildingName equals Kahala Beach and ListPrice greater than 1000000. A listing must match every row to be shown. There is no “or” between rows.
Do capital letters matter?
No, not on a standard WordPress database. “Kahala Beach” also finds “KAHALA BEACH”. Spaces and punctuation do matter with Equals.
Why does my BuildingName condition show no listings?
Usually BuildingName is not part of your import, the field name is misspelled, or the MLS writes the building name differently. Confirm the field is imported, check the spelling, and try Contains with part of the name.
