Cancel from Subscriptions in your MLSImport account. The subscription moves to pending cancellation and keeps working to the end of the period you have already paid for, then stops.
Cancelling stops the data, not the website. Properties already imported stay exactly where they are, as normal WordPress posts, and they stop updating.
Cancel the subscription
- Sign in at mlsimport.com with the account used to subscribe and open
mlsimport.com/my-account/. - Click Subscriptions in the left menu.
- Open the active subscription to see its details.
- Click Cancel.
Expected result: the status reads Pending cancellation, and the end date on the detail table is the last day the connection works. On that date the status becomes Cancelled.
What happens to your site
Three things stop when the period ends, and they are worth separating because only the first is obvious.
- Manual imports stop. Starting one does nothing, because the connection test no longer passes.
- The hourly sync stops. Prices, statuses, descriptions and photos are frozen at the last successful run.
- The daily reconciliation pass stops. Listings that leave the MLS are no longer removed from your site.
The third is the one that catches people out. A property that sells the week after you cancel stays on your website, at its old price, with its old status, until you remove it by hand.
If you are leaving the feed for good, deal with the listings before the end date rather than after. Once the connection stops you have a site full of properties that will never correct themselves, and the delete tool on the Tools tab is the fastest way to clear them by city, status or type while everything still works.
Coming back later
Re-subscribing from the same account restores the connection. Your MLSImport username and password do not change, and your MLS credentials, import tasks and field selections are stored on your own site, so nothing needs rebuilding.
What does need attention is what happened while you were away. Listings that left the MLS during the gap are still on your site, and the reconciliation pass will remove them once it runs again.
Cancelling early does not end the subscription early. It runs to the end date either way, so there is no benefit to cancelling the day after a renewal rather than the day before the next one, and no penalty for waiting until you are sure.
If it does not work
- There is no Cancel button. The subscription is already pending cancellation, or it is on hold after a failed payment. The status row says which.
- It still says active after you clicked Cancel. Reload the page. Pending cancellation is a different word from cancelled and both are normal at this stage.
- Imports stopped straight away. That is a different problem. A pending cancellation works to the end date, so check the connection banner in MLS Import Settings.
- You cancelled the wrong subscription. Open a ticket with the order number rather than buying a replacement, because we can undo it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel during the free trial without being charged?
Yes. Cancelling before the trial end date shown on the subscription means no first payment is taken.
Do I lose the properties already on my website?
No. They are ordinary WordPress posts on your server. They keep their URLs, their photos stop loading only if the MLS removes them from its image source, and nothing is deleted when the subscription ends.
Should I deactivate the plugin after cancelling?
You can leave it active. It stops trying to import once the connection fails, and leaving it in place means a later re-subscription needs no setup.
Will I get a refund for the rest of the period?
Cancelling stops future renewals and lets the current period run to its end date rather than refunding it. Open a ticket if you were charged for something you did not expect.
