Two green banners at the top of MLS Import Settings mean you are connected: You are connected to your MlsImport account! and You are connected to your MLS. Both have to be green. One green and one red means setup is not finished.
The banners live on the MLS/RESO Api Options tab, which is the tab the settings page opens on, and they re-check themselves every time you load the screen.
What each banner is testing
- The account banner tests your mlsimport.com username and password and your subscription. Red means the login was rejected.
- The MLS banner tests the credentials your MLS issued, against the MLS you selected. Red means your MLS refused the request or returned nothing usable.
They fail independently and for unrelated reasons, so read them separately. The red account message names your username and password. The red MLS message asks you to check the authentication token and to check that your MLS Data Access Application is approved.
Fixing a red account banner
- Confirm the username field holds your account username and not your email address. This is the most common cause by a wide margin.
- Retype the password rather than pasting it, in case a space came along with the copy.
- Confirm the subscription is active by logging in at mlsimport.com. An expired subscription rejects the login the same way a wrong password does.
- Save the screen and reload it. The banner re-tests on load.
Fixing a red MLS banner
- Check that the MLS selected in Your MLS is the right one, especially if your area has several with similar names.
- Check that the credentials are in the fields named for your platform and that other platforms’ fields are empty.
- Ask your MLS to confirm your Web API access is approved and active, not only that an account was created.
- Clear the cached data. Open the Tools tab and click Clear Plugin Cached Data, then return to MLS/RESO Api Options and reload.
Clearing cached data is the right move specifically after your MLS access changes on their side. If we activate your MLS, or your MLS approves your application, your site may still be holding the earlier answer. Clearing makes the next check ask again from scratch.
If you were told your MLS is activated and ready
That message means the activation we control is finished and your MLS is now selectable and connectable. It does not connect your site by itself. Do this on your site afterwards.
- Open MLS Import Settings and confirm the account banner is green, using your account username rather than your email.
- Open the Tools tab and click Clear Plugin Cached Data.
- Return to the MLS/RESO Api Options tab and search for your MLS again in Your MLS. It should now appear.
- Enter your credentials, click Save Changes, and reload the screen to see both banners.
Two green banners prove the plugin can talk to your MLS. They do not promise that a given import will return listings, because that depends on the filters you set on each import task. A connected site with an empty import is a filter problem, not a connection problem.
Frequently asked questions
I got the activation email but my MLS is still not in the list.
Clear the cached data from the Tools tab and reload the settings screen. Your site keeps the previously fetched MLS list for a while, and clearing it makes the plugin fetch a fresh one that includes your newly activated MLS.
Both banners are green but no fields appear on the field selection screen.
The plugin fetches your MLS field list right after the connection succeeds, and the screen says to stand by while that runs. Give it a minute and reload. If it never populates, tell support which MLS you are on so we can check what your feed returned.
Does the connection get checked again on its own?
Yes. The settings screen re-tests it on every load, and the background sync will not run at all unless the connection is recorded as good. That is why a lapsed subscription or a rotated MLS token stops syncing rather than silently importing stale data.
The account banner is green and the MLS banner is red. Is my subscription the problem?
No. A green account banner means your subscription and login are fine. A red MLS banner alongside it points at the MLS credentials or at your MLS approval, both of which come from your MLS rather than from us.
