Keeping Up with Google Reviews: A Realtor’s Challenge
As a realtor, the list of tasks to juggle can seem endless. From showing properties to negotiating deals, the workload is hefty. One item that often falls through the cracks is responding to Google reviews on your business page. If you’ve been following my content, you know how vital these reviews are for your online reputation. But responding to each one manually? It’s just another task in an already packed schedule.
Today, I will show you how you can use AI to automate your Google review responses. Yes, you heard that right! With the help of tools like ChatGPT and Zapier, you can have personalized replies sent out automatically. Imagine freeing up that chunk of your time while still maintaining a personal touch in your responses.
Why Automate Your Review Responses?
Being a realtor means wearing many hats. Sometimes, there isn’t enough budget to hire an assistant, and Automation becomes a lifesaver. There are various tools available, but today we’re focusing on automating Google review replies using ChatGPT integrated with Zapier.
Not only does replying to reviews show courtesy, but it also boosts your local ranking on search engines. If you’ve seen my other posts about getting reviews, you know that replying to them is just as important. So let’s dive into how you can take this task off your plate.
Getting Started with Automation
First things first, you’ll need accounts with both Zapier and ChatGPT. Sign up for at least the starter plan on Zapier and make sure you have some credits in your ChatGPT account since generating responses will use tokens.
Once you’re set up, head over to Zapier and create a new ‘Zap.’ You can name it something like ‘Auto-Reply to Google Reviews.’ The workflow will begin when a new review is posted on your Google Business Profile.
Setting Up Your Trigger
Select ‘Google Business’ as the app and ‘New Review’ as the event that triggers the automation. Connect your Google Business Profile account and select the location you’d like to monitor for new reviews.
Zapier will test the connection by pulling recent reviews from your profile. Choose one of these reviews for testing purposes and continue setting up the automation.
Integrating ChatGPT
Next, you’ll integrate ChatGPT into the workflow. Select ChatGPT as the app and ‘Create Conversation’ as the event. Connect your ChatGPT account using an API key, which you can generate from OpenAI’s website.
The user message will be the actual review text from Google. You’ll also want to specify instructions for ChatGPT on how to respond. For example:
‘Laura Perez is a realtor team in New York City helping clients buy and sell properties. Reply to client reviews under two sentences with a personal touch.’
Generating Responses
You can customize these instructions as needed. The model will then generate a reply based on these guidelines. You can test this step to see what kind of response ChatGPT produces before moving on.
If you’re happy with the reply, move forward by adding another action in Zapier: creating a reply on Google Business Profile using the data from ChatGPT.
Finalizing Your Automation
Select ‘Google Business’ again as the app and choose ‘Create Reply’ as the action. You’ll need to map the data fields correctly: use the review ID from Google and the generated reply from ChatGPT.
Test this step as well to ensure everything works smoothly. Once you’re satisfied, publish your ‘Zap’ and watch as it automatically replies to new reviews!
Tweaking and Optimizing
If at any point you’re not happy with how ChatGPT responds, you can always go back and tweak the instructions or even manually edit some responses until you find what works best for you.
